Sports Club Vaptsarov is based in Dimitrovgrad, Haskovo province. Chaired by Mitko Stanilov, the club provides badminton training and participates in regional competitions. Named after the Bulgarian poet Nikola Vaptsarov The club is affiliated with the Bulgarian Badminton Federation (Българска Федерация Бадминтон / БФБ), which was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Sofia. The federation organizes national team championships, individual state championships, and youth competitions across various age groups. Bulgaria has a proud badminton tradition with notable players including Petya Nedelcheva, Stefani and Gabriela Stoevi, and Diana Koleva.
